I've eaten deer without freezing it many many many times in my life. We usually fix the back strap for dinner like Conan said the same day we process the deer it's kind of tradition in my family.
I have never heard about freezing the meat to kill parasites.

Yeah I think that’s where I read it too and just got mixed up. I never actually went raw but was considering it for Gator and read a lot.

Uh-oh you know who's going to insist that you deworm yourself.

No, I won’t insist but if parasites are a concern, it’s helpful. I use simple pin worm treatment because you never know where/when the parasite man will strike.
