Kiki's White Trash and or Nerdy Birthday Bash Funeral

What do you have on your phone? Everything that you have on your phone. Contacts. Phone numbers. Banking info. Email accounts. Password keepers. Grocery lists. The list goes on and on.
That is terrifying for sure but luckily for me (and unluckily for them), I don’t really keep anything important on my phone! I’ve never saved passwords or anything because I’ve always thought it seemed dangerous and don’t bank or anything on it so the most they’d get is links to random stuff I’ve saved, a poop ton of pictures of my animals and concerts, my social media, and some friends numbers. 😂🤣

Well, I guess they could get my email and card info maybe? That would be bad. But I could cancel the card easily enough and my email is mostly spam 😂🤣

They could get ALL SORTS of information. People use their phones for everything, these days, from ordering food and prescriptions to maintaining their finances to filing taxes electronically, so there could be LOTS of sensitive info exposed:

Identities
Phone numbers
Credit Card data
Login data for your private accounts.
Links to your home computer & the info on it (like taxes, finances, personal records, etc ...)

Nope ... that's why I maintain a hard-wired land line and a "dumb phone" not a smart or iphone. I even closed a store account when I found out they tracked it using my SS# (Kohl's, FYI)

We can't always keep everything protected, but we can at least do what we can to minimize what outsiders have access to!
How the heck did they get your SS!? :ep :th

And this is why I don’t keep anything on it. Although my card info is saved I guess.

A credit card is a loan. Loans are generally linked to your SS# or sometimes your DL# - which IS linked to your SS#. Every credit card application you fill out requires one or the other or you don't get the "loan." From there, everything is a simple matter of cross-referencing. Read Orwell's 1984. Big Brother is real.

So it was like one of those credit cards from the stores??? I figured it was just like a rewards number thing or something and couldn’t figure how they would get it from that since those are usually phone number but seems it’s an actual card? Or no? I think I maybe read that a long time ago or maybe that was the animal farm one.

We IT geeks get to learn a lot of interesting things... (Never piss of your sys ad)

I made sure to spoil our IT people. That's how I learned about PEBCAK and ID-10-T errors ... and could sit back, nod innocently and secretly snicker while the rest of the unit spoke "knowingly" about the reason their systems were misbehaving! Those PEBCAK errors were the WORST! :lau

Kohl's. I don't shop there anymore, unless I have cash-in-hand.

Crap! One of my chickens just died. A FBCM had been acting off and stopped laying eggs ever since I did the land clearing with an excavator a couple weeks ago. No other symptoms. With that one gone and the three SS I’m going to get rid of that will leave room for a few ISA Browns I’ve been wanting to try.

EDIT to add:
And the tracking I was concerned about wasn't on the mainline system. It was at the cashier's station! I was in-store once and was checking out when I realized that I'd left my card at home. The cashier said it was fine ... all I had to do was type in my SS# on her little prompter and the system would look it up for me. Horrified, I apologized to the poor cashier ... and left every last item on the counter.

Egg yolk peritonitis, egg bound, salpingitis, hypocalcemia, fatty liver syndrome... are you curious about why she died?
