flashlight - no, but I have caps that have lights on the brims or I can just stick a headlight on.
lighter - don't smoke, have to have a permit for fires but I used to carry light anywhere stick matches.
ear plugs - already have permanent hearing loss
knife - knives
lip balm - don't need it
sharpie - carpenter's pencil
other things - yes (scissors, wallet, handkerchief, valve assembly for the water hose, mini pliers with philips and straight blade screwdriver, money, etc.)

I have no problem fitting this stuff in my 5 pocket Wranglers. The shirt pockets hold the pen and papers and other miscellany.

My major gripe with women's pants, sweats, and shorts is the lack of pockets. Why do designers assume that women don't need pockets?!

They're an old-fashioned storage device from before streaming content was invented. Out here in the hinterlands streaming video doesn't work so good. We do have electric and running water, though.

Yes and even an indoor outhouse.

The flashlight is more handy than I ever imagined before I started carrying it.

The lighter is for if I cut electric fence or other nylon rope/string--to burnish the ends.

I use a torch if I'm starting a fire and yeah, permits here as well, sufficient snow cover, etc. Unless (apparently) you're just plopping yourself and fam/friends down in the middle of the forest and doing as you please. At some point folks are gonna get tired of that and think, "If they can, so can I," and that'll be the end of it if it happens in sufficient numbers. Not sure how I feel about that. Don't want forest fires, but do demand freedom.

She's blonde/white. It's the early morning light I suppose, or your device. I guess she does look a little pinkish. She's shedding too, and her skin shows through a bit. Her name is Eden and the baby is Rose (prolly will be Rosie even when she's older, though). I sold the others. I just don't have enough land to feed them through the long winters and it's too expensive buying hay. I'm thinking I may get a few dairy sheep.

What do you use your lighter for?

Burnishing nylon string/electric rope when I cut it. Or just for cutting the string. I use string and tent stakes to stabilize my poultry netting.

She is beautiful!! It's hard having to get rid of cattle, life just isn't the same without a cow or three. Up at the farm there is a pet Highland cow who serves no purpose whatsoever other than to exist. But I know, hay is too expensive for such large pets.
