No they don't. Many states have specific laws requiring a number of steps you must take before killing protected/managed animals. Defense of your life, probably. Defense of chickens or other animals, don't count on it without checking the laws thoroughly.

Well I already buried the sucker but if anyone can show me a video or somthing on how to sking them I wouldent mind

I guess its better then wasting it.Ohh and btw these dont look like an average minks, they have the same color and everything its just that there about as big as a coon! So like cletus the rooster said if I can catch the rest of the family im gonna be toasty warm this winter!
Thanks for all the suggestions!

Yo skin them you hang him up on a tree or basketball goal ext. To skin him you cut two rings around his hind legs. You pull down to the tail, and then de bone it. You will have to cut a small slit on his rear so it will pull down, and then just pull and use your knife to loosen the skin off. When you get to the head it gets a little tricky. If you come out with the nose still on you did good.

Definatly not,it didnt have the same mouth as it and I dont think they go this far away from water.Plus I would never kill an otter there too cool and they dont harm chickens.

Shame we don't live closer, I would gladly take the mink you trap. While they aren't worth near what they used to be I still like to tan various fur-bearers as they make interesting wall hangings and decorations. Fox, bobcat and coyotes all have beautiful, prime fur this time of year.

Well now I feel like a jerk for wasting the pelt.I wish I could put an add on craigslist but im afraid someone would call the cops on me or something.Any mink I catch now ill try to skin.Maybe I can make a nice hat or something.Or if I get like 7 of em I could make the most comfy blanket in the world!

I feed my predators to the vultures too, I can not bury them since I do not want to contaminate my drinking water, my wife does not let me to throw them in the dumpster (they stink off the dampster even more than it stinks already).

This way I support the vultures by recycling and I make the planet more green. (Aren't I nice? I think ALGore likes me, who knows may be feeding predators to the vultures reduces "carbon footprint")
