I've seen people use traffic cones, old detergent containers...basically anything with a small opening for the head and a large end for holding the body. Let your imagination run wild!
We're in the middle of a blizzard right now, so I just used a rope in the garage with a slip knot for the feet, and a tall bucket. Cut the jugular, then lowered them to the bucket to bleed out. The bucket kept the wing flapping contained and made for easy cleanup.
There's someone here on BYC that makes killing cones. You might search killing cones. I can't find them in the stores and the cones made for it usually have a flange you can screw to a wall or something.
I needed one for a few roos so I just took an old 4 liter milk jug and cut the bottom off, then cut around the part where the lid screws on. That way you have a big end and a small end. It worked good for some bantam roosters but I imagine a larger chicken might be a bit harder in them
