Killing each other

I found the video!
This is just a short clip of what the chases looked like. They would go on for 5+ minutes at least.
This is what mine do in the off season- EVERYONE chases Nugget round and round the house. They've stopped for now, bc Nugget and Blue have begun their annual sparing.Everyone else just tries to stay out of the way. Yesterday evening they were doing it in the coop, so one was sent to the coop, the other to the run, and the pop door between locked. Then both of their heads got rubbed down w/neosporin.🙄
Weird thing is, Blue doesn't seem interested in either of the twins, where as Nugget seems to be building his harem. Blue prefers to tag along w/Rosie and PJ, & the 3 of them are peaceful together. 🤷‍♀️ But- last year, I remember the couples seemed set early on and then there being a mate swap right before nest sites were picked out.

My2Butterflies, that is what ALL of my guinea cocks do! Ghost is the one most often chased, and Bruiser never gets chased, but they all do this! This chase lasts for long long minutes, and goes to trees, in top of the coop, it’s totally 3D! The cocks are panting and totally exhausted; I’ve seriously been afraid that one would have a heart attack, especially doing this in 100+ F weather, as in the video below. Mine did this even after all were paired, for no reason I could see. The video I took at the beginning of this thread was just the part I could capture, when it turned into a tree chase between Ghost, Kingpin, and Victor.. This video below is from last summer during the heat, Victor chasing Kingpin:

I don’t see any chasing on the off season. Maybe a charge to selfishly guard some food, but that’s it.
Now that spring is in the air I see males fight a bit and grab at each other’s wattles. Nothing has gotten too violent, yet.

That charge in your video is what I see my males do from time to time. No chase after the charge. It has only been Boss and #13 that have butted heads enough to do that. Everyone else seems to fall in line.
Being jumbos they never took chasing beyond running. It must be something else to see them running and flying after each other😳 I do not know how they have enough energy to keep that up!

Nugget made a pest of himself early on -he was a much smaller keet & took advantage of it. They tolerated it for so long before retaliating. So chasing him around the house is more of a sport than any mating ritual. I mean, the girls participate, too. Lol.
The battles between Nugget & Blue are just starting up for the year after a quiet winter - & they are brutal. They peck, bite, claw, pull feathers, wattles, necks, try to pin each other up against things, and chase. It's not unusual for me to split them up.
Himself has rejected my idea w/the greenhouse and come up w/other plans that will give me a lot more space to split them up.....and..not sure if he realizes....have more guineas..:gig
