Good luck with your class project. Here is my story:
When my children were in school the science teacher wanted to incubate chicken eggs. I volunteered to drive to the university to buy a dozen eggs for the class; what the heck, I bought a dozen for us to hatch at home. Keep in mind the teacher had a Masters Degree, all kinds of resources, a budget and a professional incubator; at home, all we had was something that hubby and the kids knocked together out of plywood, a cake cooling rack, a work light, sponge, thermometer. We kept it on the kitchen table so it was constantly being monitored by the entire family. Sadly, the classroom eggs were an epic fail - the reason being there was no one to monitor things when school was closed after hours and weekends. At home, we hatched out 11 lovely chicks!!
