Kindle Club!!

I'm thinking VERY hard about getting either a Kindle or a Nook (anyone have any experiences with Nooks? They do the same basic thing, but which is "better" in your opinion, and why??). Especially now that I have started college and the textbooks are so expensive. What is the average price range of books you can download? Just wanting to make sure it'll be worth it.
Can you download e-books onto them too? That sounds like a really stupid question..but you know what I mean. Like the kind you can download for free (usually) that you open on your computer in pdf form most of the time. I feel like it would be much more comfortable reading them on a Kindle than on my laptop.

I don't know about text book prices, but you can get alot of free books for Kindle. The prices range from .99 to $14. I don't see too many over $9.99. I know at the end of the year Kindle is going to start allowing borrowing from libraries. I can't wait for that.

I have books that I debated about getting the real book or the Kindle version. Sometimes I go with the real book, especially with non-fiction. (Like my gardening or cook books) It is easier to find what you are looking for sometimes with a real book.

I love my Kindle, especially since I get tendonitis in my thumb from holding a real book open. Yes, I read that much! lol

Got my original nook last christmas. I loved it. Then B&N went and released the nook touch. I was almost immediately in line to buy it. Gave my original to DD, and she's now enjoying it. Another horror fan here, zombies also. Read the Stephen King story about the kindle, pretty good.
