King Suro 20

my SN is on the label on the back of the R20, but their website rejects it. I have an email in to them to see what's wrong.

ETA the reply...
Dear Sir

Rcom20 incubator does not have serial No. registration system.

Sorry.

Unscrew water pump: put in the tubes, very simple!

putting in the legs or what you call it: remember to push it snug tight into that hole!

Drill small hole to fit tube into (didn't want my tube to pull out while I was gone!), wow it fit perfect, cause of my drill job- I suggest you use a marker to use a reference to how wide you need to make the hole:

Today: Well I did what was suggested/ which was to cut the humidity pad at that length, but I made it a little bit longer then 3 inch. It is at a perfect 99.9 with 55 humidity that I preset.

Overall, I am very pleased with the King Suro 20, it was very easy to set up. Hopefully this will help others.

I have one too. I love it. It's almost set and forget . I sure could have used your pics then. The directions that come with it are the worst I've ever seen.

Because of a family emergency I have someone egg sitting my 37 eggs that need to go into lockdown tomorrow. My first time using it, can someone give me instructions on how to get the humidity up from 45% to 75%

press/hold first two buttons (+ & -)on the left similtaneously until beep. press ok once that then cycles thru setting temp humidity and alarms. humidity is the second setting. use the up arrow until you get to the right humidity. then hit ok repeatedly until you're back to seeing temp and humidity displayed.

I love this incubator.

In the past, I have used both a Hovabator and a Little Giant, and at best I got a 15 to 20% hatch rate. I even tried using a tube and funnel to get water into the pans without opening the lid, and I have gone through more thermometers and hygrometers than I care to remember.

For my first hatch with the King Suro, I had shipped eggs. The post office must have shaken the box because most were cracked and those that were not were coated with egg from the others. I washed them off, put them in, and hoped for the best. Remarkably, every single egg hatched. I'm sure I won't always get 100% hatches, but still, this incubator is far and away better than those crappy foam jobs.

FYI, here were my settings: days 1-18 -- temperature 99.9, humidity 40%; days 18-20 -- temperature 99.9, humidity 55%; days 20-21 -- temperature 99.9, humidity 65%.

Day 1 April 7th

Fast forward in time:

Day 25th-27th

WOW hatch day, I stopped turner, and heard lots of peeps (FYI) I never candled the eggs, lol. So on the first 24 to 26 hour, 4 hatched out of incubator. (this entire time that I was incubating these eggs, I was looking for some local duck eggs, and I got about 14-15 Muscovy eggs that I needed to set on the 28th of April) SOOooo...sadly I took the risk and had the "ghetto" rig something to hopefully hatch the rest of my RIR chicks... Hopefully they hatched...as you can see, I found a plastic egg container, put some shot glasses with water in there, and a lamp.

Day 28th to 29th

Day 28th I put in my Muscovy eggs, and at the same time hoped the other chicks would hatch...and they did! 5 hatched out---and on day 29 I was surprised to find that two more hatched out... That was just amazing... I couldn't believe it, all I had used was a plastic egg container, shot glasses with warm water, and a heat lamp. No reading temp or nothing... 11 out of 12 hatched.

50183_photo6.jpg

Here are my Muscovy set in the background,

Humidity set at around 68-70, and temp at 99.5.

Well since I'm at it...today at May 4, I set 11 Khaki Campbell, I over stuffed the King Suro with 3 more eggs, 1 dropped, that's why I got 11 in there only. Here they are, all over stuffed in there...

50183_photok.jpg

Well, I heard incubating Muscovy duck eggs in a incubator was one of the hardest to hatch, didn't find out about that till after I got these eggs...So lets see how the King Suro Does?

Heard I need humidity at 55 for duck eggs...I can't really turn it down since I have my Muscovy in there, sooooo for now 65 Humidity will have to do...
