Would anyone happen to have any white leghorn development pictures? Both roo and hen?
I still don't know if I should say Kirby is in fact a "he" because I've seen some white leghorn hens with some pretty big waddles and combs, Kirby's comb has gotten bigger over night though and I can see very tiny waddles.
I think that the coloring looks cool. I wouldn't go out and specifically buy a dyed chick just because they look cool but I'd be willing to rescue any that were purchased as Easter gifts.
One thing that I liked about our local TSC was that the minimum quantity for chicks was 6. That keeps the "Easter" crowd out I suppose.
I'll be putting new pictures up on Thursday, when he is 4 weeks old - just to see how big of a difference he is showing.
Oh, and is it normal for chicks to challenge older hens?
Kirby was outside with the hens and as the hens where eating from the feeder he would peck their mouths and bully them, eventually one of the hens ran up to him, but he started chest butting her and she ran away.
