Kirby Thread *NEW PICTURE 7/11

Yay! Kirby thanks you.

Today he looked like he was doing the "silent crow" he wasn't flapping his wings around - so I am guessing yawning?
He is looking so goofy, going through the "ratty" looking stage.

I'm so happy that Kirby found a very good home.

I wanted to post an add in the paper here is the title: "Tired of your Easter Chicks? Call this number ..."

But I never got around to doing it.

Really, I have not read the entire thread (got through the first few pages)BUT - I live in NC and while it is illegal to sell dyed chicks it is not illegal to dye them for chick ID or just personal reasons, it does not hurt them and if done properly is absolutely safe. It does bother me that one of the posters put this as a list of do nots... he looks perfectly healthy and happy to me and isn't that what we strive for in a flock or pet?? Ok, off my soapbox and I will read more of the thread. I think he is a lovely shade of pink

Sorry everyone! Internet has not been working, but it is now. I will have some pictures up tomorrow of how much Kirby has grown he is getting HUGE.
He just turned 5 weeks yesterday, and this will be his third night in the coop.
I am actually VERY glad I raised him as one chicken, I don't have to have the fear of him attacking people or other animals, in fact he LOVES my grandma's dog and will nestle up with him and he will come running to greet you if your a human, he still cries if I am not around but he has gotten use to the coop and LOVES the outdoor life. I let him free range throughout the day and put him in the coop at night.
him and the hens are still trying to work things out, the hens tend to avoid him while he enjoys his time pecking at my grandma's garden.

-Negative comments will be ignored-

Thanks to those who have supported me and left positive comments.

I think he is adorable! I have Easter chicks too, but they aren't dyed. But I keep thinking how LOVELY my white leghorn pullet would look in a super rockin shade of neon green!

I wouldn't do it because I'm just too lazy, lol, but I'm very glad Kirby has a loving home. In the end, isn't that what matters? Not what color he is, or where he's from... Can't we all just get along?
