Kitty and Dog Thread, Show Me What You Got, other critters welcome too

I love scaring kitty. Generally she scares me.

she scares me sometimes too! Especially when she jumps on the bed in the middle of the night or early am! LOL she sneaks in like a stealthy ninja so I don’t hear her!

Although lately she’s been coming up earlier and laying with me

She also tends to sleep at night now. The days of her youth and being up till all hours of the night are over I guess

She also loves to be underfoot! LOL it’s not very often cause usually she sits just one room over and watches everything but sometimes she will sit right behind my feet or come flying by and I don’t see her so then I go to turn around or walk and wind up tripping over her! Thankfully I’ve never fallen but I walk right into her! Then she takes off and/or stares at me like she’s mad at me for walking into her! Ummm hello!?? I’m not the one who got right in my way! LOL

That said, one time she was stalking something by the chicken coop, was heading behind it, must have been after chipmunks or something, she had something on her sights, full stealth/stalking/hunting mode... I walk up behind her... scare her half to death and she looks at me all embarrassed and takes off I guess I broke her concentration LOL

That time I didn’t even do it on purpose, I was just walking that way anyway/wanted to see what she was up to lol

Oh my...My Cat does all that to everyone here on my property. She stalks Birds, dogs, horses and Ducks. I don't think one thing here has gone without a slap from my Cat. She isn't trying to kill...

Aw yeah, I’m sure she was just playing! But it still scared me cause the chicken she had chosen is a fairly scrawny chicken and still young so she probably could have taken her if she really wanted to! Lol but she’s lazy so I don’t think she would have. and this chicken is very smart and fast so likely would have just flown out of the way lol but I was paranoid cause she was close enough they might not have seen it coming

But she’s older now (turned 9 in August) and not really interested in hunting much anymore so I’m sure it was all in good fun lol

I once watched her let a chipmunk go! She had had it in her mouth too! But toyed with it a bit then let it go! Some hunter

Yesterday she slapped Darla our Poodle on the head as Alley was up on a lawn chair. Claws were snagged in Darlas Afro.. Darla is used to it so barked at Alley..

My little pup Shorty wrestles daily with my kitty. I always find Shorty sitting on Stinky Kitty. I tell Shorty to get off kitty. They look up at me like mind my own business. Apparently little dogs and kitties go well together.

Definitely... Wilson was my cats Momma when I got the three kittens. They nursed off his belly skin every single day. Alley and Wilson have silent communication and she rubs all over him daily..

Our last cat thought he was a dog cause he was raised with one since he was little

Luna was an adult when we got Gator so she was like who is this invader!?

They grew to tolerate each other though, not sure I’d use like LOL but I’m pretty sure she misses him now.

Nice! She seems like she’s still young and spry! Lol mine turned 9 on August 17th. So similar birthdays. Your kitty is a little older.

Mine is the sweetest, gentlest cat so I’m sure she’s harmless

She’s mostly indoor lately though. She was going out all summer but we’ve had foxes and hawks hanging around lately and she’s tiny so she gets to hang out inside haha

She doesn’t seem to mind though. She’s been finding a nice sunny patch on the rug to lay on

She still has a sense of humor and sass and sometimes just rolls around like a goof. Last night she was on my bed so I bent down to pet her/kiss her and she put her paw on top of my head and kinda held me there

Oh and this is kind of random but finally got Luna a grooming appointment. She goes Thursday morning.

Not doing the full shave this time though I don’t think. We’ll see. Depends what they say/think I guess. We’ve done lion cuts twice in the past.

I think it’s a little too close to winter for the full shave though.

Plus she’s usually miserable for a while when we do that. She likes her coat I guess LOL

I would too. It’s beautiful.

So anyway, I guess we’ll maybe just do a sanitary shave or something.

She has some mats on her butt/back legs that I know need to come off and then I guess it depends what else they find. I haven’t felt any others though so I think sanitary will be fine.

I think she will be much happier with those mats removed.

I’ve been trying to work with her some to let me brush her and she’s been getting a little better with it.

Apparently she is really sweet and nice and a good kitty!! She just makes a lot of noise but doesn’t try to hurt anyone lol

She lets the vets do whatever they want to her too which I hear is rare

But I just don’t like forcing her to be brushed. I have but she meows very loudly and when that doesn’t work resorts to swiping/twisting/trying to get away or biting if all else fails lol but even the swiping is without claws! She’s very gentle.

But she hates it and I feel bad forcing her but if I don’t she gets matted.

But usually I used to just not brush her

She actually isn’t bad mats wise if she stays inside which she has been lately. But she was going out and gets matted when she does.

Anyway, I’ve been trying lately to build up with her. Brush her a little bit or even just put it near her and let her go before she complains. And lots of treats lol seems to be working somewhat but she still hates it.
