Well he was actually in the run by his girls this morning, however when I tried to get out the back door the dogs busted past me and scared him away again. The problem is that trees around me are way to high for me to reach him. And the run is not covered so over the fence he goes! As long as the cats don't get him I will catch him sooner or later.

Well I finally got the little bugger! I was out back changing the water for the hens when I heard him give a challenge call. He was over in the neighbors yard 2 houses down, challenging his reflection in some glass!

So I took off my heavy coat an slowly approached him, and he bolted and ran around the garage then he decided to run around the little shed she has, I'd go one way and he'd go another. Then he flew over the fence onto the railroad tracks. So I hot footed it around to the tracks and tried to corner him again, the chase was on!

He ran down the alley, and up the block and I finally caught him by the entrance to my neighbors front yard.

SO now he is in his coop with his girls and food and water.

Fr Chuck, you don't by chance live in Fern Creek do you? Yesterday taking the kids to school there was a chicken in someone's front yard on Beulah Church Road, right there in town. It was unusual to see and the first thing I thought of was yours!

We will be looking for Delaware chicks (or fertile eggs) when the weather here in kentucky warms up a bit, around early March. Does anyone here trade or sell Delawares?

We just have buff orps now, but we'd like to add Delawares to our flock.
