Ah, so you actually have easter eggers then, that's what I figured. Not going to get into the whole EE v. ameraucana debate

Thanks anyway.

Is anyone in eastern Ky close to Johnson, Lawrence or Martin counties? We are just getting started and would like to find others close to us to either buy, or possibly trade with. Hopefully we will have chicks on the 16TH, and they will be silver and golden laced wyandots, and possibly some comets. If anyone is interested just let me know. Thanks

Just saw this, been busy (my sister is visiting from Michigan).

Hope your chicks are doing great and glad to have met you and your family, Cadie

Just give me a call if you have any questions.

I've decided to keep the other buff orp chicks I had leftover

they seem to be popular, I may as well hatch a few of my own when these grow up.

I think I'm going to need another coop before the summer is out:)

Buff orps are very popular. Dad got $60 or $70 for a cage that had 5 or 6 girls and a roo. Only 3 of the girls were pure, and they had black in their tails

Hi, I'm in Hart County, and have hatching eggs for sale. I have a good LF barnyard mix. There are some pure bred light Brahmas, and Australorps, one buff orp, one Dorking, some dark Cornish, (the DC's are hatchery stock, so not really pure bred) some very nice EE's that lay both medium-large and huge eggs, some mint green, some olive, and some mixtures of the above.

Their eggs have near 100% fertility. I check for the 'bulls-eye' when ever I open an egg to eat. It's rare to find one that isn't fertile, and when I do it's a small one from a pullet that just started laying. After a short time, her eggs show fertile, too.

My birds free-range, and get good quality feed, so the chicks are generally very strong and healthy.

How I select eggs for hatching: I choose only the best of my eggs for hatching. I remove any that are odd shaped, have thickened areas of shell, are overly porous, too big, too small, too narrow, or have any readily visible defect, such as wrinkles, etc. Then I candle the ones that are left, to see cracks and shell defects, and or other abnormalities that may make an egg less suitable for hatching.

I'm asking $6 per dozen for assorted hatching eggs, (or whatever number you want at 50 cents per egg) $3 per dozen, eggs for eating. You can of course, incubate the eating eggs if you wish, and I'm sure many would hatch. Bear in mind they will have been refrigerated, and tsome may have shell defects that could prevent them from hatching easily, (such as thickened 'zip-zones', badly placed air cells) or cause them to break more easily if placed under a broody hen.

If you want to try some, post here, or PM me, and let me know what you want, brown, green, cream, or any combination of those. I'll start setting aside eggs for your order as soon as you complete your order via Paypal. I ask payment in advance, so I don't set aside unrefrigerated eggs at room temp for several days, and then not have them paid for, or picked up.
