I am asking all that will attend what time should we start. I don't want to start too early, for those that have a longer distance to drive.

This is my first chickenstock, so everyone please give me your input/advice as to the time and everything else that would be of interest to us chicken addicts....lol

Thanks,
Dorothy

I am asking as to what everyone would like to do. Some people may bring chickens to sell, swap, etc. It is like a luncheon for us to meet and talk chickens, etc.

As I said, this is my first chickenstock.

I was thinking about grilling burgers & hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans and whatever else we come up with. And of course, some kinds of desserts...lol

skennedy - We don't have to have a starting time and it can be a pot luck lunch. I don't have a problem with that....lol

I was just thinking about a time so that the burgers and dogs would be hot off the grill.

Also, I need everyone to either post here or PM me and let me know how many people will be coming with you so that I know approximately how many burgers and dogs I should have ready. I am the type of person that would rather have too much food than not enough....lol

Thanks,
Dorothy

One more thing, when it gets closer to Sept. 13, 2008, then I will PM all that said yes, for sure that they are coming with the exact address. (At this time, there is 10 of us that said yes, including myself.)

skennedy - Thanks for the info. I will put you down for 2 at this time, but will keep a check on it to see if I have to update it whenever it gets closer to the date.

Dear Dorothy,
Thank you for putting in all of this effort to coordinate us all! It was most helpful that you put in the mileage/hours from the surrounding cities.
For us from Kountze, it would be 4 1/2 hours, so although I'd really love to come, it would be really difficult with 4 little ones. Children, that is!
I hope that you have a wonderful time! I'm on a plant swap list, and we did this same sort of thing, and I really enjoyed meeting others with similar interests. Think of all the good stories that BYC people could tell! Much more exciting than plant stories.....
Thanks,
Jennifer

My son and I would love to come.. maybe anyone else up here in North LA that wants to go can get together with me, and we can carpool? PM me if you are interested. I drive a Camery, so I could take 5 total, and it gets good gas mileage, so we can save some $$ on gas if we ride together.

Anyone gonna come from the Alexandria/Pineville area that I could hitch a ride with? Cause I'd love to come.

(Of course, said ride would have to meet my mom and hang with her a time or two before she'd let her baby girl go...but, you know.)
