La Fleche Thread ~ PIC of my Black La Fleche

It turned out to be a pullet....however, I was at a show recently and picked up a pair of non-hatchery stock, hoping to keep this thread going..................................................chrisf

They are a source of admiration for folk who come to our place....they often comment on the dark shiny feathering. The comb is, of course, very different and seems to amuse children greatly.

Very resourceful and active birds.

I have been following this thread only I haven't found any (affordable) La'Fleche to buy yet. BUT today I am going to pick up some hatching eggs for some. Wish me luck.

I also hope to find some at the Newnan GA show this month.

They are not popular in Britain. My eggs came from eBay and cost me about £7 including postage....5/6 hatched. I'm working on converting folk locally as everybody who sees them comments on their lovely feathers.

What show were you at that you saw and purchased la fleche??? How many were there?

If you meant me, It was at the Northeastern Poultry Congress in Springfield Ma.......there was only one seller there with La Fleche, he said his stock came from somewhere upstate NY.............................................................chrisf

My 8 Lafleche eggs have been in for 6 days and I candeled them today and all but one have a little swimmer.

I can't wait.

Thsi is a picture of the roo that is the father of my eggs.
