No eggs out of the Dorkings/Anconas yet?Arg....jealous, and anxious to see what happens.

In all, eight out of fourteen. Three quit early into incubation. Two quit about a week prior. One looks to have been dehydrated(air cell about 40%). One was born with a single underdeveloped toe, the rest of the toes were normal. This chick also came from a very small egg. It will likely be culled very early on. Of course its the one chick that handles well at this age, and it will snuggle in your hand. It will probably get culled into the hands of a friend or something if it keeps up the good work.
I'm moving twelve more into the hatcher tomorrow morning. And then over two dozen come the 10th.
Next few days will be a huge test for the La Flèche. Currently I'm getting about 3 eggs a day from Buckeyes and 4 eggs a day from La Flèche. But with this weather I'm not sure they will hold up. The stock was from Minnesota and Massachusetts, which may help. But subzero temps may compromise the eggs pretty quick.
I am experimenting this weeks hatch. Most of the eggs collected were at reasonable temps. Today's eggs I let them chill outside until it was 15° out. I want to see if they develop at that sort of exposure.
