Hi, I know I've posted before but need more opinions...
I got a lab puppy a month ago, she was the runt of the litter.. She has a quite a bit of white on her, she has some on her chest, neck, under the chin, and even a couple of her nails are white. The owner told me the white would go away. But others said she get even more white, or that it wouldn't go away. Could it be birthmarks that go away. She's a very calm and precious girl :) I just don't understand why she said it goes away. What do y'all think? Her brothers and sisters didn't have any white. Since I've had her, the white hasn't gone away, if anything she might have grown more white.

I would say those marks are here to stay! I'm not sure why they would go away... Any markings my dogs had as pups they had as adults. And I've never seen toenail color change. Did she think you wouldn't take it if the white would stick around?

I'm not sure. I just asked if the white markings would go away, and she said yes, it goes away. Do you think she just wanted to get rid of her fast? Because she was the last pup left. I got her off Craigslist

I remember you and I'm glad to hear that you are bonding with this little pup!

i found this link that might really help you out!

Thanks! Yes! We absolutely love her! She's calm, precious, and a great cuddler. I just don't understand why the owner would said that. But as long as she is a full lab with a lab temperament like swimming, fetching, etc.. I don't care :)

I would think that's more likely, unfortunately... A lot of times people don't want pups that aren't the breed standard. I love abnormal colored/unique animals, however :)

Thanks for your help! She's a great pup and I love her! She is a really fast learner too! She's only 14 weeks and I already taught her to sit, give paw, high five, lay down, rollover, Stay, and come.

it really depends. many white markings go away when the adult coat comes in. Some won't. If you got her from Craigslist, then you're dealing with a less than good breeder so that means she's likely not well-bred. Some white markings occur in even well-bred labs and it's not against the standard.
The fact that she has white toenails says (to me) that it's unlikely that all the white will go away.
