Labored breathing and yellow nitrates

It is difficult, no way around it. Be he is learning compassion, adversity, loving no matter the price and empathy for what the animal is experiencing and making the right decision no matter how much it hurts him. Their comfort is always above our discomfort. But it's still difficult.

Taco passes in my hands yesterday. He sat with me nearly the whole time. It was the Marek's that took her. She had a seizure and was not conscious. No trouble breathing. I held her til she passed. I did not believe she was in pain so I chose to hold her instead. I did order a few chicks last night. They will be vaccinated for Marek's and kept inside for the first 2 weeks. I believe that is the time needed but please correct me if I'm wrong.

@My Very First 6 Chickens
thank you for your kind words. Making the decision is hard but necessary as I've learned all too well. I hope you look around the website and on the meat birds threads. There is a lot of discussion on the different methods, step by step instructions, people's experiences and lots of help when asked for. This is how we (ahem, hubs) learned with our first dispatch of hatched cockerels.
