Wondering how I would go about introducing lacing into orpingtons. I live in New Zealand and as far as I know we don't have laced orpingtons. There might be a few breeders working on it but nothing available for sale (we have a closed gene pool, not birds or eggs can be imported into the country, what we've got is what we've got unless someone goes about trying to make it!)
Anyway I was wondering how successful crossing this rooster who has a orpington father and barnevelder mother over blue orpington hens would be for creating lacing. I realise that no matter what I would have to cull heavily. But I would just ask what people's experiences and advice would be. He's just a lovely rooster and such beautiful colouring it would be great to have a go! I am also trying to create cuckoo orpingtons, blue faverolles and cuckoo polish. Not sure how successful I will be but you have to give things a go!
