Here’s today's shot (January 5, 2026):

I don't really have any ideas for today, and of anything I did have, I thought of it too late. The day isn't over yet, so I might try getting a bonus one for yesterday. :D
I like it!

You play piano?

Here’s my bonus picture (which would be for yesterday, but it was taken this evening). My Mom had taken my 4Runner to Vermont over the weekend, and it got so dirty. This is my driver's side window, and that is not snow on it, but pure road salt. There's a reason why all the cars rust.

Oh my goodness. You should see our car (from Vermont). Vermont is definitely really bad at making cars last long.
Yeah, everything gets so salty and dirty in the winter here. Have you guys been having bad roads recently?

My Mom was saying that! I guess on her way up, she got stuck in a snowstorm, then on the way back, the roads were really bad.

Our roads aren't too bad, but they do have enough salt on them to look white. I was on one route today that still had ice and mud build-up in the middle of the lanes though, and the last storm was a few days ago, so it should have been clean by now.

I hope she did alright! We have been having a lot of accidents recently, especially with buses.
The plow trucks have been especially slow this year, and the roads are worse than they have ever been. We had it rain the beginning of last week and it immediately froze and now snow has just been piling on top of ice. We still are dealing with the ice from then. Our road seems to be especially neglected (of course my brothers take advantage of it and plow the roads and driveways with our side by side).

Yes, she did alright. My 4Runner has the option of being in four wheels drive, which I don't think it's been taken out of that for weeks now.
That's terrible. Is it due to lack of crews or funding? I know we have a few towns that are known to have terrible plowing, though I'm thinking it has to do with the roads themselves being terrible in general than the crews. But then again, they do seem to hire just about anybody with a license.

January 6, 2026:

We got some snow during the night, so first thing I went out to capture a couple of photos. I wasn't exactly sure what to get, so I took this first one of my Mom's Sequoia which is currently parked in my driveway.

We’re not really sure. I bet it wouldn’t take much to find out. I agree! It seems like they might just be short on people this year.
What a true statement, especially for up here. It’s quite scary.
