"Try and stop me." He taunted. The smoke continued getting thicker and thicker, stinging Kate's eyes. The creature slowly creeped around as it stalked towards Kate.
 
Kate snarled, narrowing her eyes slightly against the smoke and keeping him in sight the whole time as she prowled around in circles with him.
 
It snickered at the snarl and followed around in circles along with her.
 
Kate waited until they had turned enough that she was standing between him and the exit. Without a word to him, she turned and pelted back the way Jack had gone, disappearing into the thick smoke.
 
The creature snarled furiously, seeing her try to escape. It chased after her at lightning speed.
 
Though Kate had been previously wounded, she was wickedly fast and agile. She darted effortless across the snow, her lighter size allowing her to run across the surface without sinking in.
 
Suddenly, a lithe white shape exploded out of the snow, crashing into the creatures side and knocked him over. Kate turned around briefly, meeting the eyes of the white shape and nodding slightly in understanding, her eyes glazed with sadness and determination before plunging once more into the bushes.
