The entire group was high in the air, circling around as they looked for Sam when they arrived in the arctic several hours later.

Daruk, still invisible, went further ahead, scanning the area.
 
He became visible for a second, indicating that he had heard her. But he became invisible immediately. He dove as silent as a shadow into the cave.
 
Daruk flew out, unseen. The only evidence of his presence being the breeze that he created in flight.
