Thistles arrived at a cave 100 miles away a few hours later, far from danger. She faded back into her regular self as her clones flew away, leaving Vlad unattended. The crocodiles soon arrived in, all safe.

"Well THAT was interesting." Gina said, laying down.

"Tell me about it." Stephen grumbled, laying down as well in the back of the cave.

"Hey, Sedna, have Mark and Eva arrived yet?" Gina asked, signaling for Thistles to lie down.

"I think I saw them earlier." She replied.

"Hm. Well, I hope they get here soon, this is becoming much worse than I thought it would be." Gina said, stretching her legs. "I'll need to talk with Kate soon, we're going to need to attack Vlad sooner or later and take back Lakia completely."

Ranik dropped from the sky in front of her. "State your business."

"I-I'm just searching for food for my pups, please don't hurt me!" She cowered from him.

He smiled gently. "I know where I can get some fresh bird for you."

She stopped cowering. "Thank you." She replied softly.

He just smiled and flew off, passing his brothers.

He returned pretty soon with 6 birds. "Here you go." He said to her.

"Thank you" She replied, smiling weakly. She then walked off slowly, then when she was a good distance away bolted over the horizon.

"What was that about?" Kenai said, landing next to him.

"A young mother was looking for food for her pups." He said, uneasy.

"Hmph...don't do that again or King Vlad will know of your soft heart." Kenai snarled.

"Alright..." He followed Kenai back into the sky.

The mother walked back into a cave with her four pups. She carefully gave the birds to her pups, allowing them to eat. They rolled around, tearing the feathers off and carefully eating the tender meat.

"We'll be going once Gina's held up her end of the deal." Cairo concluded, stretching his paws.

"What was the deal?" Derek asked.

"She's supposed to have convinced Kate to let the rest of my team out." Cairo grumbled.

"I think we should leave her in Gina's care." Derek said, looking at Scyene and the pups. "I knew her before I joined you, Cairo. She's a good person, I could trust her around the pups and Scyene."

"If you say so." The blind lab replied, flexing his toes on his forepaws.

"I'll take her once the pups have eaten." Derek replied, sitting down.

The brothers were flying over the area, searching for clues. Every now and then, a bark could be heard as the brothers called to each other.

While the fight had been going on, Jack was rubbing his bonds on a sharp rock. Finally, they broke and he was able to free himself. On silent paws, he left the castle, keeping low.
