"Every ounce of what we've taught you while you've been here is going to be put to the test." It continued, opening the cage and grabbing a bird. It held it down on the ground with a powerful paw. "Flying, combat, endurance, speed, agility- all of it. These birds are smart, cunning, and quick. If you can bring me back this bird, you will have mastered the academy and will graduate as a soldier. If this bird gets away... you will be executed."

The smokewolf lifted its paw from the bird's back, allowing it to fly free. The smokewolf allowed the bird to fly for a moment before nodding to Faedon, signaling her to go.

Faedon darted off like a bullet after the bird.

The bird flew as fast as it could, keeping the distance between Faedon and it. The hawk, who was still as a statue up until now, dove upwards and scratched rocks off the ceiling, sending rocks flying down.
