Mali extended her wings to full length and flapped hard, bringing her upward. Despite her horrible pain searing through her with every motion, she climbed higher and higher, until she could fly again.

Santiago scrambled backwards with a startled cry, his claws scrabbling on the loose stones in his haste to move.

"Leaving so soon?" She mocked as she continued walking toward him

Santiago continued backing up, his eyes wide.

"Santiago!" Sara shouted "Whats going on?" From several building away, Sara could be heard pushing through the rubble to them.
