Please help.
our 6yr old Osterlope became lame 3 days ago. She just started wobbling and then couldn’t stand.
The weird part is there are few obvious symptoms to point toward a cause.
Her eyes, comb, crop, beak/mouth, abdomen, legs are all sound.

She’s very hungry for scratch but won’t touch her pellets.

I checked for egg bind (none). She has energy but just can’t stand up.

She’s not pooping much but also unable to move to drink and eat.
I’ve given her a few syringes of Nutridrench. A couple epsom salt soaks.
It’s day 3 and I haven’t a clue about cause. If she were human I’d guess a nerve condition or stroke….but her eyes/pupils and energy level is normal.

any ideas?
thank you!

Do her legs seem paralyzed? My rooster got botulism poisoning (mold poisoning). It started with him not putting weight on one leg and within 3 days could not walk at all. He could eat and drink on his own but was reluctant to do so. After that, he slowly could not eat and drink on is own. Look for other symptoms that may appear. Hope she'll be okay!

How is she doing?
I'm dealing with similar issue.

Yes! It’s 5 days now and other than her back not working she seems very strong. I’m giving her nutridrench, egg, bread, and B complex vitamins. No better. I’m afraid I’ll have to euthanize her soon as sitting all day is no life for a hen. I’m heartbroken.
