Lamp heat

I am going to build a couple of brooders for the new chicks coming in June. The brooders will be 2x2. What bulb should I use(amount of watts)?

I use a 175W heat bulb 18" abve the floor of the brooder pen. As they start moving out of the light more and more I raise it a couple inches each time until it is not needed

I use a 250 watt heat bulb and adjust it by the chicks actions. If they huddle together they are cold and if they spred apart and act normal,,they are just fine.

I use 85 watt bulbs (two) with this brooder, but I have a smaller on that only uses one bulb.
