Is it safe to have the heat lamp, with a 75 watt bulb, laying directly on the chicken wire, facing down into the brooder? The bulb itself is higher than the shade itself of course, but would this compromise the chicken wire?

My alligators 250 watt basking light bulb is touching the metal lid. It has been fineI did have it laying there for about 20 minutes, and all seemed fine, but I can't find any images of people doing this, so wasn't sure if I can leave it like that overnight.
Can you post a picture of your setup?I did have it laying there for about 20 minutes, and all seemed fine, but I can't find any images of people doing this, so wasn't sure if I can leave it like that overnight.
I can. It's not currently laying on it. But I will put it back on and snap a pic.
Is this honestly okay?? The chicken wire is zip ties to the lid and the bulb is 75 watt.
It would probably work fine. But I always secured the heat lamp cord to something to 2 things would have to come loose/ break before anything happensYou know what, I'm going to answer my own question! I will adhere it to something, even though it truly is stable. Crazier things have happened, and I would be that one person to have the chicken wire break free from all zip tie locks!
