As I've been reading through older threads about landrace breeds, I came across Bullfrog's thread about jungle fowl. Someone cited an article that was fascinating to me about wild game chickens in Fitzgerald, Georgia. I take no credit for finding it, but since I sure wasn't here in 2019 when it was posted, I thought I'd leave the citation here for those who haven't yet seen it: https://www.audubon.org/magazine/stalking-wild-ur-chicken

Personally I would scout as many as possible to find the ideal rooster, then keep an eye on him around dusk to see where he roosts. Chickens are far easier to catch at night

I've actually considered driving there before for this purpose, but I have about 15 cockerels right now I want to give a chance

Well we need time to strategize anyway…and to find a bus we can fit in with all the chickens
