Heard it calling. It had a habit of walking the treeline beside the house and when I hear it I set the dog after it and if I can safely do so I will shoot in it’s general direction (even if I can’t shoot it safely I will shoot into the hill as near it as I can). I haven’t heard it near the house in months.
They’re usually quiet animals unless a female is in heat or two individuals are fighting. Are you sure its a bobcat and not something else? I’m presuming you’re hearing screaming calls at night. My gut reaction is that you’ve got an animal that screams frequently from the woodline, its probably something else. Unless you’ve conclusively seen the bobcat make the calls. Its just not a bobcat’s way to vocalize with any frequency. And when they are, its usually them being social or wanting social attention as opposed to hunting.
I’ve never heard it do while hunting—it does it around dusk and I do think it’s a social thing. I assume it is what got my rooster because it is the only predator I have evidence of anywhere near the coop right now and I have seen it on trail cam.
Good luck! I can tell you from my own failures… make your shot count. Bobcats learn quick from missed shots or otherwise being spooked. They can be oblivious until they’re not and they won’t be careless again in the same circumstances if they survive the hunt the first time. I’ve messed up a sit on bobcats twice and never could get a second shot at those two cats.

I thought about it but I don’t have an incubator and all the eggs are in the fridge. If I can get another from my friends it should be just as good
