Langshan Thread!!!

I thought you people were Langshan experts? You don't know a Rare Royal Langshan when you see one?

LOL! Probably came from the same area as the rare Rhode Island Buff!

I decided to take a few photos of some "possible" future white bantam breeding chicks. So far, I am very pleased with the females. The males, there's just something "off" that I don't like. The tails don't finish and they mature way too fast for my taste.

The birds also have a very bad problem of having light colored eyes. The first birds I started with, one had a light pearl eye. The other had a marbled eye.

I got lucky and thus far have had some good results! Slowly but surely the eyes are getting darker!

This is one of the cockerels. The youngest and least developed. I hate that he already has that red comb on him.

And a very promising pullet! I LOVE her head width and eye color:

Oh yes, I know. They are the breed Bubba and Billy Hill in Wyoming invented? An instant hit in the poultry-world. Beautiful animals, like their heads, especially the combs and wattles. Nevermind the grey speckles on the boyo. He only got grey hairs when he filled in his tax-form. And, the poor old hens cannot help that they have not got anything in the shape or feathering that even resembles that old, stupid Langshan-breed. And I simply love the fact that this new Langshan-breed has lovely light eyes. THAT does make them stand out. ROYAL LANGSHANS, Royal, as in king and queen? And the leg-feathering on the hens is the nicest I have seen. VERY discreet. Ever. Honestly now. And that typical RIR brick-shape must have been hard to breed into them. Are you the seller on eBay by any chance? I would never have guessed that.
And, here's something else on eBay for you:

I really want that magazine! Is that a crazy amount to pay for it???

No, buy one over here and send it across the big water, and you will get no change out of ten dollars. I read that issue, it was not fantastic, but some nice pictures of some Croad Langshans, 5 page article about them, in fact. Treat yourself, I am sure you deserve it!

It was a VERY cool find thorleif! I loved it! The pictures are fantastic, although I am SURE that your friend has some photos in there! :D

The photos are very nice and it is so neat to see the differences and similarities of our own birds in those photos! And the fact that whites are favored so much over there!
