What other breeds do you have? My Langshans are still my favorite but there is a chance that my Pita Pintas will tie for top spot with them. They are hands down the friendliest chicks that I have raised. I haven't had them as adults yet so it remains to be seen if I will like them as well as my Langhshans. I have an eclectic layer flock because I wanted to try out different breeds. I love my Cream Legbar blue eggs but the ones I have are flighty and not the best for meat. I also love the friendly Wellsummer pullets that I have and the quad of heritage Rhode Island Reds. They RIR's are very mild mannered like my Langshans and built like bricks.
I have a very nice trio of Partridge Brahma, our layer flock has a couple Cream Legbar, two Cream Legbar x Penedesenca (olive eggers), and two Black Copper Marans. What other breeds do you have? My cock from AZ is not in these pictures. I've already decided to keep him. He has nice type and appears to be continuing to beef up. I also wanted to keep him because he is not closely related to the pullets. The two cockerels and all the black pullets are from the same hatch. The splash pullet is a third source.I forgot to say that you have some beautiful birds there! Isn't one of your roos from the breeder in AZ? Is he in one of these pics?
I would love to see some new pics of him! Jim is going to bring me eggs and/or chicks when he comes for the Stockton show in January. That is, if everything works out and he comes.I have a very nice trio of Partridge Brahma, our layer flock has a couple Cream Legbar, two Cream Legbar x Penedesenca (olive eggers), and two Black Copper Marans.

I will see if I can get a picture of him. He is coming back from a light molt. His tail is not full right now but you can get an idea of his general type. Did you already hatch some from this line?I would love to see some new pics of him! Jim is going to bring me eggs and/or chicks when he comes for the Stockton show in January. None of the eggs that he sent me hatched. They were shipped during that horrible heat spell in April or May and all either didn't develop or were early quitters. Not a one made it to lock down. We decided to wait until the Stockton show rather than try shipping again. I need to contact him and see how things went for him this year. I'm hoping that it works out for him to come to Stockton. If he is not coming, I hope that we can try the shipped eggs again now that the hot summer is over.I will see if I can get a picture of him. He is coming back from a light molt. Hey Dirt Farmer! Sorry I've been away. If these sentences don't make sense, please blame the Nyquil! I like the dark eye on this cockerel, but not a fan of the last point on his blade. Either way, comb is one of the last things I look at unless I notice it's flopping over. That being said, he looks to have a nice curve to his comb and keeps it nice and tight to his head. The points are also nicely evenly serrated and don't run together. Love seeing that!
I like this cockerel quite a lot. I am concerned about his wings though. It looks maybe like a weak wing, or he is still young yet, possilby just hasn't grown in those axial feathers. He has a nice tail width that comes together nicely instead of being too wide like the cockerel in front/behind him in the photo. I like his back but would like a better photo of his legs. He looks to have a nice green sheen to him which is something I love to see at this age. It promises great things for the future!
This is the same cockerel as above right? Still seeing a lower wing than I'd like to see, but age may change that wing carriage.
I can't really tell much on this pic, but I like the leg length I'm seeing. Also looks to have a nice, wide head. Can't wait to see him as he matures!
Have fun with it.
I"m sure it might be sunburning, but I see some brown in the saddle of this male.
To me, and this is just my viewpoint on this. A Langshan should stand tall and proud. This bird stands tall, however he looks to have a different stance than what I would want. More of an Orpington stance. I'm not a fan of his tail either or his comb but I do like his wing carriage. If he was used in a female line, I could see keeping him but compared to some of your other birds that appear more mature, I would look to them before keeping him.
The green sheen is there, but he's lacking in the topline department. It could be age, but he doesn't have the angle I would hope to see at this age of smooth lines and curves.
If it matters he's lowest on the totem pole. Also a little smaller.
