I have another question, are langshans feather sexable?I'm excited to announce I had 3 langshans hatch last week. 2 blues and a black?![]()

So you mean I need to wait like everyone else? LolNot to best of my knowledge, I suppose some lines might be, feather sexing is done at day old though when it can be done. Sexing as they develop normally, I say normally females feather their bodies out faster than males do, but it isn't a hard fast rule.

Molting is a normal thing chickens do but this sounds like it may be something else. Do you have an area in the chicken pen with mostly sand and a little diatomaceous earth for them to dust bathe in? Helps to ensure they are able to rid themselves of pests, fleas, ticks, mites etc.I have a year old Black Langshan roo that seems to have either pulled out or lost all of his leg feathers. Has anyone ever heard of this? Should I be concerned? His legs look sore to me, but don't seem to bother him at all.
