Langshan Thread!!!

Not a problem! He does appear to have some Asiatic blood in him, so he may be part Cochin or could have ancestry from a Langshan that at one point had been bred from a yellow-skinned bird.

He does look very friendly. I hope you're able to keep him when he starts crowing!

Hi, does anyone know of any breeders that breeds the Langshan that has a plum bloom or occasionally with a plum/ pink egg?

I love the Langshan and am wanting to show them as well, but at the same time I am selling my eggs at the market and am looking for this color

Thanks everyone!!

Wow, he's very nice!  And big.  So he is three months old now?  At what age could you tell he was a male?  His comb and wattles are way huger than my 9 week old chicks'.

I suspected at about 4 weeks. I was lucky enough to get two and they were so different in size then. She was mean and sassy and he was sweet and social. I'd love this youngster to just be a big girl but he is starting to control the flock if you know what I mean. Edited to answer your question. Yes, 3 months-hatched March 17
