Laree's "I CAN'T STOP MYSELF FROM HATCHING!!!" Hatch-a-long

I'll keep my fingers crossed. I have had to help hatch some as well. I find sugar water or nutredrench works well to perk them up. Hope all your other eggs start pipping soon!

This chick is still just laying there. No other signs of life in either hatcher. Maybe this one is a day late and they're really due tomorrow. I hope.

Hi all

I am still hatching away....

My last hatch is July 2nd. Except for scattered peafowl eggs. I have put at least 30 in the incubator since they started laying and 1 FINALLY have 4 fertile eggs.

I will be shutting down the Dickey and just use the Brinsea. At least that is the plan

Caught a snake trying to eat one of my juvi D'Uccles Sat. night. Foiled her dinner plans when I snatched her out and unwrapped her from my baby. She is now in a bird cage, with water & food (eggs) and will be taking a ride far far away. I know....most would kill her, but she has been living in the barn 2-3 years and has taken care of any mice etc. I do not have any rodents in my barn. I did catch her eating some eggs about 2 weeks ago and relocated her to the back of the property. Of course she made her way back, but now she must go. My kids are begging to keep her...NOT. She is at least 4 foot long or more and very docile, you can pick her up etc. I will find her a nice wooded area to live.

My internet is spotty to none, but I have been checking in and following along when I can.

Good Luck on all the hatches

Just went in to check my lonely baby and another hatched. I se no other pips, but this is a godd thing. I was so upset that out of over 100 eggs I got one chick. And they're both doing great. Putting them under one of my broodies tonight.

I still only have 2 chicks but one more pip. Very frustrating.

I did try to out them under my broodie, Bad idea, she got off the nest ruffled up and attacked them. Their back in the bator. I was so made I took away her eggs and stuck them in the Sportsman. Tomorrow I'm going to try and break her. She's been sitting for 6 weeks. She's broken eggs, nothing it happening in there and she needs to eat better, so no babies for her. I need the eggs anyway.

Ya know..........I'm really tired of the way my eggs show up from the Post Office. I had lots of broken aircels in the hatch I just locked down, but took a shot. Candled once, but I didn't see anything happening, so left them just in case. Then I decided to not candle. Candled before lockdown and the aircells are all over the place.

This hatch I set 55 eggs. Some were mine and I see some early quiters. Only 2 from all of my shipped eggs even started and they have those wavy aircells, so not looking too good. I set 20 eggs from my birds and the rest were shipped. All Silkie eggs. I can't get a shipped Silkie egg to ever hatch when it's been shipped. The 2 I locked down I really have no hope for, but I gotta try. So out of 55, I got a whole 15 in lockdown.

In decided to candle the bantam Modern Game eggs Makayla and I are waiting on and only 2 of those look like they may have something, but the rest were clear or bloodrings. I just hope if these do in fact hatch, we get a pair.

If I could just get enough to have my own stock, I'd be set and probably never buy another shipped egg.

Yeah right! How am I kidding?
