We are having 111 degree days and I have a hen going broody.

This is the same hen that was broody earlier this year (her chick is about 3 mos old), she just stopped mothering her chick and has just started laying again. I think I have gotten 2 eggs from her.

I pulled her off the nest and dipped her butt in cool water. I don't think I broke her, but she looked more awake. Afterwards I thought....hey I have some eggs getting ready to hatch.

She is such a good momma! So if she is still broody later, I will let her finish the eggs, they only have a couple more days and I won't have to worry about brooding them.

That's what I've been doing with my broody hens since it's been warmer outside. I incubate until lockdown and then swap out the dud eggs my broodies have for the ready to hatch eggs and let them raise the babies for me. Getting chicks out of my house finally!!!

I got my lawn art today and I llooovvvvee it!!! I don't find it hideous I think its cute I will try to post a pic bit not quite sure how to as my computer is broken and only have my phone...
