Well, I thought this was my last hatch (the one due May 25th), but then my friend went and bought two dozen eggs for me to hatch out for us.

She didn't ask me first, and my incubator is full!

My broody just hatched out 9 of her own....So my hubby and I threw together a second incubator for me. Bless my darling hubby, who doesn't like chickens except to eat, the drill slipped and went into his finger Sat. evening. We ended up in the ER, he missed the bone, they gave him a tetnus shot and antibiotic. He got up on Sunday and finished the new incubator while I was at church!

It is a larger version of my other one. An ice chest with a 60 watt light bulb and a water heater thermostat. It is holding very steady with temps of 99 to 100. I think it is going pretty well. So I now have 12 OE and 12 Lav/split Ameraucanas in the second incubator due June 5th.

I get most of the Ameraucana's and she gets all the OE and a couple of Amer.

Hi! How many times are the eggs run through the xray machine at the PO?

Probably twice, but the xray machines do not have sufficent power or radiation to really damage fertility. People worry about it, but it is really a non-issue.

OMG...I laughed sooo hard. Definitely yes. Unless you want more stalkers...Its so awesome that people will stalk you more. I know I will.
