Laree's "I CAN'T STOP MYSELF FROM HATCHING!!!" Hatch-a-long

Scary! I hope that last one makes it OK! We had power going on and off last night and was fretting over the incubators too! I was wondering how to fit 45 chicken, 14 turkey and 7 duck eggs under 2 broodies

Fortunately it never went out for long and the temps held.

Sorry to hear your momma is missing, she probably took them back to the nest.

I contacted ksf59 about her Wellies. I had never heard of Bob Fugate, and she said in a post once he is in Kansas. So I asked her about them/him. I just set 12 from faykokowv, I got them in a swap! I was so excited I could barely type out mine!

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to get a great hatch from them!

Sent you some info about My Fugate wellies. Funny most assume all the "chicken nuts" are she's. I bee a tough ole rooster however.

Please understand that I am laughing with you not at you. I work on a military installation and you don't know how many times I have been called "sir" when I am driving in. I am hoping it is not because I LOOK like a "sir" but because it is so early in the morning.

NO insult taken. I am kinda old school, and have worked in "customer service" areas most of my 30 plus years of working life. I usually am a maam or sir kinda person and have made that mistake a time or 2 in the morning myself. It is refreshing to see some young people still use "sir" and "maam" . I often correct peeps who call me sir and tell then I am not that old, that they have to call me sir.

. I may have grandkids and sleep with a grandma, but I certainly don't consider myself old.

I am a bit older than the "youngsters" I work with and if any of them call me ma'am, I tell them they don't have to call me ma'am 'cuz I work for a living.

Iowa blues have started hatching. 1 out, 2 pips so far. Whole bunch of peeping eggs, so fingers crossed for a good hatch.

Broody mamma #2 (buff bantam Faverolle pullet - 1st time broody) gave me 100% hatch today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She popped 6 fluffy little large fowl Ameraucanas out of their shells today. It was my first 100% broody hatch!!!

Hmm, something to post.... Oh! My little Ameraucanas are 2 weeks old.

ETA: These are the same two - pictures weren't great - but of the six chicks I have, I'm suspecting I have almost all roos. We'll see when they feather in.
