I will, I will, I'm sorry!

I'm still moving, piecemeal, into the house I bought. But I have the three prizes, names and addresses together ....... somewhere in this or that stack in one or the other of the two houses in which I'm halfway living.

Once found, I'll get them in two the mail.

Again, my sincere apologies!

I just put 18 eggs into the incubator, after moving 22 to the hatcher yesterday...

I've got it bad. Really, really, bad.

But I need a good selection to choose the next generation's parents from, in my line-breeding plan! I have a valid excuse! Does that make me *not* a Hatchaholic? Oh, the pain!!

As you all may remember awhile back, I felt like I was the only one who didn't have a broody hen.....well.....I think I may have my very own first broody hen!

Went in to check for eggs and she was in there with a few drowned rats....its raining like crazy here and silkies don't do well in the rain. I went to check under her for an egg and she let out a real quiet growl. I did manage to spot an egg under her. Yes 1 measly egg. Well I went out this evening....in the rain of course and she was in her sleep stuper on the egg so I slipped another silkie egg under her. Guess I will know more tomorrow. Should I separate her? My silkie coop is a very large wood dog house that is dark and quiet.

Hello. My name is Wendy, and I have a hatching problem. We have added on to the coop several times, I bought a special hutch specifically for hatching. I have broody hens constantly, which makes me feel the need to let them hatch eggs for me. I just hatched 6 quail with my Silkie and Cochin broody team, and my Austrolorpe went broody just as I finished the newest addition, the quail hatchery....so.... Henwyn is now setting on eggs.

The DH is getting concerned, but I told him "its only hoarding if you don't take care of them all properly. MINE are all very happy healthy and well cared for.....plus, we have the room, so why not?"
