Hi all,
On Wednesday night our young Mallard hen was attacked by large water rats. The flesh in her back has been eatten off down to the bone in some areas.
She also has a broken leg. But more on that later
She is eatting and drinking she has special food full of vitamins to help her along.
She has been to the vets and has antibiotics and painkillers. Also some Venticyn spray.
What I want to know is how well does skin and flesh grow back on ducks.
Should i be keeping her wound moist or should i let it dry out. I understand this will be a long road of recovery but if she has a chance I will take it.
I have to say I would normally just put her down I dont like to put animals through long recovery times . She is a special case for reason that I wont get into here
I can post pictures of you are interedted but it is very graphic
TIA
