During my early am check on the flock I noticed one of my fbcm has a balloon filled crop. The crop feels soft and squashy to the touch. Almost as if it's filled with air. This is the second morning I have drained her crop. It's mostly filled with a tan colored liquid. The liquid does not smell bad. I gave her no food yesterday, only water and it's still filled. What is causing this? I'm not thinking sour crop due to the fact there is no foul odor.

Liquid will come back out of her beak when she has her head down at times.

Yesterday morning I started her on ACV, today I'll be getting yogurt. You think it's just a bacterial issue? I sure do not want to loose this girl.

I have a young roo with this prob it is slowly getting better, he has an impaction poor guy.. I can feel the mass in there. I have been giving olive oil and massaging the mass and it is slowly getting smaller but it is liquid filled too. I give probiotics inthe water and mix his food with water to make it easier to digest and lots of massaging. I saw a thread on here about monistat curing sour crop you might search monistat and read about it.

So we obtained the Monistat today and have starting using 1/3rd of a suppository in a little scrambled egg. Do you think it's ok to go this route? We will again this evening feed another 1/3rd along with more egg and continue until all three suppositories have been used.. Hope this helps her get better and the crop go back down to normal. As soon as I picked her up out of the cage liquid starting pouring out of her beak again.

Oh poor girl
