Hi! we just hit day 19 with my broody and I’m trying to figure out what’s going on in this egg as it’s *very different* from all the others.

Does this look like good news or bad news?

And this was the same egg yesterday

I believe that's just the membrane pulled away from the egg shell.
It should not be a problem.
Are you seeing any movement in the air cell?
The less you rotate or move this egg right now the better.

Definitely sit on your hands now. Once the chick rotates into hatching position, you dont want to move the egg at all, otherwise the chick will need to to use its energy to get back into hatching position again. Not a huge deal unless the chick was weak to begin with, but either way it takes a lot of exertion and effort to escape its egg!
