large Eggs

We've had the flock on 22% protein feed since the crazy protein decrease in commercial feed back last fall. They free range and get a bit of scratch once a day. They have free choice oyster shells.
I sell eggs but I'm not selling these giant eggs. They don't seem normal with the regularity and the watery whites.
Does anyone have any suggestion about what is happening?
Normally you wouldn't get suggestions to lower protein, but more protein can lead to larger eggs, so maybe cut back to 18-20% and see if that makes a difference?

We are planning to cut back the protein a bit, as you suggested. Thanks for confirmation that we are thinking in the right direction.
Just have to get to the feed store to get some regular layer pellets to mix with the 22% we've been using. Thinking of doing a half-n-half mix and see what happens.
We are eating the giant eggs and only selling the normal sized ones.
Once we get some new feed and run the change for a while, I'll post and update.
Seems like chickens, as with gardens, are always an experiment.

I have a RhodeIsland red that lays massive eggs. I was wondering the same thing she lay’s every other day but always massive eggs. She’s been laying for three months now.
