Hey folks, please use care when packing your eggs. We received some eggs from a swap with the eggs wrapped in WalMart type bags touching each other. Several were broken. Will not mention any names. Just check out this thread before shipping anymore eggs. Below is what the eggs looked like.
We have wrapped in this type bags before and shipped, but wrapped only one egg at a time. These had two eggs laying next to each other and then wrapped. When the USPS moved the box, the eggs rattled together. We ended up with 5 out of 8 eggs that were intact. We do not want replacements or to start an issue, other than to educate.

How to Ship Eggs:

I will also say, the USPS is becoming more rough with hatching eggs. Some I shipped through the Jacksonville, FL sort facility were either held an extra day or two or damaged badly. We are now trying to double box every shipment. we also wrap in tissue, then in an egg carton, then shredded paper, stryropeanuts or other packing material. There is still no guarantee with the postal service.

This is a great tutorial for packaging eggs. I do it this way with a few variations.

To simulate what your eggs have to endure and survive, take a shipping box and hold it over your head. Now drop it. Then kick it. Tumble it end over end. Maybe even down a flight of stairs for good measure. If your eggs come out unscathed and intact, they have a decent shot at making it though the postal system.
