I have read about bumblefoot, but this looks to be a larger growth going on currently with both feet. This is a 1 year old Golden Comet, any ideas on how I can treat? We don't have a vet nearby.

They roam the backyard all day, their coop is sand and their sleeping area is clean and is wood chips with metal poles for sitting. Here is the bottom of the foot, it looks like the growth has gone all the way through the foot. Not sure if I should try and soak the foot and then just cut it out myself, or wait until next week when I can get to a vet.

Still looks like bumblefeet to me, poor girl, it must be really uncomfortable having them both bad like that and yes I would start by soaking and trying to scrape away some of the scab and if you can, dig the core out, but make sure you have everything you need to pack and bandage them before you start and maybe just tackle one at a time, but if you are not confident of dealing with them yourself and you can afford it, a vet would probably be best.

I think it's either bumblefoot or mud/feces balls that have gradually built up. Those can start very small in a tiny crevice and build up over time to a large mass that is stuck in the foot. They are hard like concrete. They usually are external around toes and ankles and shanks, but I've seen other pictures of embedded ones in the foot. Here is one thread with pictures, these are much looser, I've seen tighter ones: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...acted-pockets-in-chickens-toe-webbing.950954/
A good soaking and some manipulation will hopefully answer which one you are dealing with.
These may help:

I agree with soaking the feet using warm Epsom salts, and removing the softened scabs to get the core out. The cores are hardened cheese-like pus. It may take some serious squeezing to get them out. Then put plain neosporin ointment and a gauze dressing on the feet. Here is a good link to read with videos on the surgery and how to apply a dressing:
