Large, Open-Air Coop in Central NC

Pics
I did a little light work on the coop by myself today.

Added reinforcing staples on the doors to give an extra row of protection against raccoons.

Nailed down an errant piece of trim.

Built a ramp for the perches.

But I had a problem with a screw where the impact driver got away from me and drove it so ridiculously deep that I couldn't make it back out.

DH said that the blade on the oscillating tool should be OK for cutting screws but either this screw is specially hardened or he was wrong because all I did was damage the blade. :(

Truly annoying.

I also learned that air compressor hose is a hundred times worse than cheap garden hose in terms of refusing to coil neatly for storage.

No photos until morning because it started to rain almost as soon as DH came in, but he put the rest of the boards on the uphill part of the east-ish side. We're going to do the last of the wire and install another perch and the ramp up to the perch and nestboxes on Friday then move the chickens in.

We'll make pop doors when we get to them.
