I have a young rooster that has just come into his own and he is huge and I’m thinking he will get bigger. I’m not worried about my normal sized hens but I have a small Cochin and two silkies that are very small with him. I saw him on my Cochin this morning I’m concerned he will hurt them with the roughness. Should I be concerned and maybe rehome him. I don’t need a rooster he just happened to NOT be a hen and I though I would try it.

Depends on the size, do you have pictures? I have a very small jungle fowl and 4 roosters two of which are huge and they pretend she’s not there

If you want to keep him I think it’s a good idea though, it’s really hard to get rid of a rooster

My rooster is probably 20” y’all and big. The Cochin the white puffy one is tiny as well
As the silkies. He was on my Cochin this morning so I’m worried about all 3. The breeder that sold him to me as a her is willing to take him back if he will hurt these little girls

Send him back..👍

I do not believe you need to get rid of him he would be just fine and not likely hurt the girls, I’m not trying to be against anything anyone said about getting rid of him I just personally get really upset when people talk about getting rid of a chicken ex specially a rooster (which I’m the past I have been very closer to rooster than hens) if I where you I would not get rid of him I would regret it forever. But this is your choice and so your the one who’s going to need to choose.
