Larger pupil on right eye

Now looking back I don’t really see the pupil looking like that. What could’ve caused it? Also do you think it may cause further problems because she acts fine now…?

It’s possible that it is ocular Marek’s. This is a different strain of Marek’s than the one that causes paralysis, but it’s just as contagious. I wouldn’t sell or give away any of your chickens until you know for sure what it is.

Through feather dander. This article is very helpful: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/the-great-big-giant-mareks-disease-faq.66077/. If she does have Marek’s, keep in mind that isolating her at this point wouldn’t do any good since it would’ve already spread through your flock.

I would be tempted to get a blood test through a lab such as RAL or University of Georgia, among others that will send you material to collect a blood sample from cutting a toenail, and sending it back to them for a pcr Mareks test. That might ease your mind to find out one way or another. I still would not assume this is ocular Mareks, but it may be. Here is a link for RAL, where it costs about $40, and you can try others:

Hello, i just took over a neighbor's flock and noticed one of our hens has a cone chapped pupil in her right eye almost identical to the one in your photo and am wondering if you found out what it was in yours.
