Chocolate being sex linked will give you chocilate females when paired with black.@Pyxis
What would I get with these pairings?
Chocolate male x black female
Chocolate male x fawn and white female
Black male x fawn and white female
My replacements came in and I got more colors than what I had for the first batch
Okay, so if I kept the chocolate male with both black amd fawn&white females, I would get only black males and then fawn or chocolates of both sexes?Chocolate being sex linked will give you chocilate females when paired with black.
As for the fawn and white, I *think* that's a combination of both the chocolate and the blue gene. So, paired with chocolate you'd get both choc males and females, as well as fawn. Combined with black, you would get botg blacks and blues, with the males carrying chocolate.
I'm not sure how the white markings work in quackers, just scovies.
No, not with the fawn and white. Since this is already a choc variant. Those females will give the chocolate gene no matter what, and a 50% chance of blue, so you'd get both males and females in chocolate as well as in fawn.Okay, so if I kept the chocolate male with both black amd fawn&white females, I would get only black males and then fawn or chocolates of both sexes?
Okay. The black probably isn't split, but I guess you never really know with hatchery colorsNo, not with the fawn and white. Since this is already a choc variant. If your black male is split to chocolate, even more colours can ensue.
